What Might Happen to F&B Businesses After The Outbreak Stabilises

What Might Happen to the F&B Industry After The COVID-19 Crisis

And What You Can Do To Prepare For Recovery

These Two Things Might Be The New "Normal"

  1. Patrons will have higher expectations for health & food safety.
  2. People will pay more attention to dietary considerations.

So… what can you do?

Promote health and food safety in your communications. Once people are allowed to return to their daily routines, it is important to look into your PR and communicate that health and food safety measures are being taken seriously as people will be more conscious about their health and hygiene.

Whether it's your website, Facebook, Instagram, other social media platforms or offline, communicate the actions you are taking in your processes and procedures to ensure a risk-free dining experience.

You can even put a notice on your reservation platform that you comply with all health & safety standards to protect both employees and customers.

You can also tap into your CRM to directly reach out to customers and inform them of the measures you're taking via email or SMS blasts.

This helps you to recover faster from the impact COVID-19 has made on your business once things are allowed to return to normal.

Provide a safe and healthy environment to dine in. Consider redesigning menus for people that have become more health-conscious and include healthier menu items or add nutritional ingredients in existing dishes to show you care about the wellbeing of your patrons. Maybe throw in some spirulina into that drink or add some turmeric to that dish.

It's also important to maintain, the same level of hygiene that was especially required during the outbreak because that will be the new normal—according to an expert, the COVID-19 outbreak may last 2 years in Thailand! Keep making sure employees practice proper health & hygiene procedures and make sure to keep surfaces clean and disinfected to protect everyone.

The F&B industry is here to stay as long as there is a need to eat, drink and be merry. And even though we can’t redo the first quarter of 2020, we can be proactive, gear up for recovery mode, and plan for life after the COVID-19 crisis.
